My 10 years old feline was diagnosed with renal neoplasia (adenocarcinoma suspected) and multiple metastatic lung nodules. As well as restrictive cardiomyopathy (fractional shortening and contractility at 23.9%) and left atrium is markedly enlarged. She is on a Homeopathic remedy, prednisolone, as well as Wei Qi (Immune) Booster. However, for the past two days she does not want to eat her food when the Wei Qi is sprinkled on it. Therefore, may you please let me know if the Complement Immune supplement and the kidney, lung and heart treats, or anything else, will be beneficial for my babygirl? Thank you so much for creating TCVM for pets. They all deserve this type of care. And it gives us, pet parents the ability to treat our babies with food and supplements that will help them thrive.
Thank you for your question, and we're so sorry your cat is struggling with cancer. We appreciate the compliments about our products and your interest in Chinese Medicine!
For cats with cancer, we recommend Complement Immune. You can learn more about how it works here: https://pettao.com/5-ways-complement-immune-supplement-boosts-pet-immunity/
Also, since your cat's lungs, kidneys, and heart are affected, we recommend alternating between Lung, Kidney, and Heart treats. Here's some more information about the Five-Element theory behind the treats and why feeding "like treats like": https://pettao.com/pet-treats/
We also recommend feeding a Blood-building diet to cats with cancer. PET | TAO has a recipe on their site you can make at home: https://pettao.com/blood-building-cat-food-recipe/
Also, mixing the Wei Qi Booster into some wet food, tuna broth, or tuna may help your cat eat it better.
Just let us know if we can help furhter. We are happy to help!
My dog schnauzer has cushings. Is this the best immune support you would recommend for his condition? He’s currently on vetyrol pills daily.
Thanks for your question! We have a number of products that can help support dogs with Cushing's disease! TCVM veterinarians usually recommend energetically cooling diets for Cushing's. Also, liver treats and Complement Immune supplement support dogs with Cushing's. There are also herbs available for Cushing's that can treat the root causes and deficiencies that lead to Cushing's symptoms. The type of herb needed depends on your pet's specific condition. Your vet will know which herb is the right herb for your pet. These herbs have to be authorized by a vet, but all PET | TAO foods, treats, and supplements do not require authorization. You can request authorization from your vet here after talking to your vet about the right herbs for your pet: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization
Do any of the ingredients cause interactions for cats being treated for Thyroid disease?

Hello, My dog has been dx via mri with a nerve sheath tumor 1 cm off of spine so they cannot biopsy for cancer. I want to help him any way I can and have read that whatever supplement I buy it needs to include the fruiting bodies of the mushroom not just the mycelium. Does this product contain that? Thank you
Hi, thanks for writing.
Here's the breakdown of the mushrooms in PET | TAO Complement Immune:
Reishi - Fruiting body
Maitake – Mycelial cultured on organic oats
Shiitake – Fruiting body and mycelial cultured on organic oats
Are there any other ingredients other than mushrooms in the Compliment Immune Suppliment. And why isn't Chaga included?
Thank you for your question! The following is the complete list of ingredients:
Inactive Ingredients: Brewer’s Dried Yeast, Canola Oil, Dried Potato Product, Flaxseed, Glycerin, Lecithin, Mixed Tocopherols, Natural Flavoring, Rosemary Extract, Sorbic Acid, Tapioca Starch, Vegetable Oil, Water.
PET | TAO based their formula on their experience about which mushrooms helped with cancer and supports the immune response in the owner's (Dr. Smith and Dr. Damron) vet clinics. Here's a link to learn more about the formulation and why each mushroom in the supplement works: https://pettao.com/?s=complement+immune
My dog was just diagnosed with Cushings caused by pituitary. Started on 22.74mg Trilostane just yesterday. Which products will support her system? She is a 27# Cockapoo. 8 years old.

My dog refused to take turkey tail mixed with food. I worry that this will not be accepted either. How often does that happen?
Thank you for your question! We haven't had any returns due to palatability issues since this product was released. Since this mushroom supplement is a soft chew, it may be more palatable than capsules, tablets, or powders. However, it's possible some dogs may not eat the product. We offer a 100% guarantee on all PET | TAO products. You can view our refund policy here in case your dog doesn't enjoy the soft chews. My dog has mast cell tumors. If used as directed, how long before improvement is seen? Also, she is currently taking prednisone; is it safe to take both?
Will this help neutropenia
Thank you for your question! Results may vary depending on the type of Neutropenia. Our vets think Complement Immune may help raise the amount of circulating WBCs in your pet's blood. To learn more about Complement Immune, check out these blog posts: https://pettao.com/?s=complement+immune
Why are there no reviews on this product?
Thank you for your question! We are working on some new technology that will ask customers after each purchase to leave a review. We haven't implemented that yet, so there are no reminders going to our current customers asking for reviews. Also, many of our customers purchase through vet clinics or stores, and not through our site, which has left the product pages lacking in reviews. It is something we're continually trying to improve and work on!
Have you thought about removing the rosemary? Rosemary is a seizure trigger for dogs w/seizures. I would LOVE to give this product a try - it has great ingredients - but can't take the chance of lowering Jesse's seizure threshold. So disappointing...:-)
Thank you for your question! PET | TAO's veterinarians believe the amount of rosemary in Complement Immune isn't high enough to lower a pet's seizure threshold. We do recommend showing Complement Immune's product label and ingredient list to your veterinarian to see if they approve of its use in your pet. Thank you for your interest in Chinese Medicine and the powerful mushrooms in PET | TAO's Complement Immune!
PET | TAO Complement Immune Supplement - I have a 9 yr old with allergies and 2 mast cell tumors low 2 in 4 months. I feed nutritionists prescribed home-cooked diet and supplement with multi vitamin copper, Choline, omega 3, Calcium carbonate and Phosphate, Quercetin and Canine System Saver. I see the Vitamin A – 1,050 IU, Is this too much Vitamin A considering he is already receiving A in his multivitamin? I am interested in the combination of mushrooms but feel the added vitamins may be too much considering he is already receiving them in his multi.
Thank you for your question! I'm sorry to hear your dog is struggling with allergies and mast cell tumors, what a tough combination. Complement Immune is a supplement that can support both of these conditions in dogs and cats. According to the Merck Veterinary Manual, the Vitamin A requirement for dogs is 3,333 IU/kg of diet fed, with up to 333,300 IU/kg of diet considered to be safe. So, even a small (2lb dog) could get up to 333,300 IU and it would be considered safe. If you'd like to double check, I'd recommend checking out your vet's opinion of Complement Immune to see if they think it would be safe in conjunction with the other great food therapy techniques you're using. If you'd like more informaiton on Complement Immune and the immune-boosting mushroom ingredients in it, go here: https://pettao.com/?s=complement+immune+. Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and best of luck in your home-cooking adventures!

Hello, Do you have a UK website please, this is where i live and would like to place an order. Thank you.
Thank you for your question! You can email us at info@tcvmpet.com with your address and we will look into whether the UK allows import of Eastern herbals and our other products. My dog has been recently diagnosed with Cushing's disease. He produces to many steroids & has begun the medication, Vetoryl 60 mg. capsules daily. Will be re-evaluated in 30 days. We did talk about supplements (pre and pro biotics and something for joint health) & diet, however, have not made any decisions since its only been 3 days. He is 8 yrs. old. Which of these supplements do you recommend we begin him on?
Thanks for your question! If your vet recommends a probiotic and joint supplement, check out PET | TAO Harmonize GI and PET | TAO Harmonize Joint. From a TCVM perspective, dogs with Cushing's are often supported by an energetically cooling diet. Check out PET | TAO Chill and see what you think! We also carry Eastern herbs to support dogs with Cushing's. Check with your vet to see if any of these fit your dog's situation - then, request authorization here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.
What is the dosage? I have 2 large Shepherds. I also am seeing many dogs being diagnosed with many aggressive cancers. I’m love heard great things about these mushrooms and am hoping to utilize them as a proactive measure a long with their current home cooked human grade diet.
Thanks for your question!
For dogs that are 51-100 pounds, give 2 soft chews twice daily. For dogs that are over 100 pounds, give 3 soft chews twice daily. This supplement is a great complement to food therapy and herbs.
