How Does Joint Lubrication Affect Dog Joint Health?
Aging or overweight dogs frequently suffer from osteoarthritis.
The common joint disease causes deterioration of joint cartilage, resulting in a loss of lubrication between the joints. When joints lose lubrication, the body tries to produce more synovial fluid resulting in joint swelling.
When left untreated, joints break down causing small fractures and bone spurs to develop. The friction and bone spurs cause pain as the joint capsule stretches and rubs against nerves and bone.
Traditional veterinarians may recommend Western remedies such as NSAIDs to treat the pain associated with arthritis.
A veterinarian practicing Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) may recommend alternative options to strong pharmaceuticals, such as Eastern and Western herbs or supplements.
PET | TAO, a holistic pet food company combining Eastern Food Therapy and Western nutritional science, created the Harmonize Joint Supplement for arthritic dogs by combining both Eastern and Western ingredients.
Glucosamine
Healthy joint fluid and cartilage contain glucosamine. A glucosamine supplement can help restore the damaged fluid and tissue when injury or wear and tear degrades joint fluid.
Glucosamine is available in both oral and injectable preparations.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant benefiting pets’ immune systems.
Vitamin C also maintains healthy collagen levels, aiding dogs with degenerative joint diseases such as arthritis and hip dysplasia.
Green Lipped Mussel
Green-lipped mussel (Perna Canaliculus) is a mollusk harvested from the beaches of New Zealand used to reduce osteoarthritis, asthma, and inflammation.
A high concentration of mucopolysaccharides, which are as important in nutrition like amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, comprise the edible shellfish.
In studies, mucopolysaccharides show anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory effects on connective tissue diseases.
Some call green lipped mussel a “superfood” due to the number of nutrients it contains.
MSM
MSM, short for methylsulfonylmethane, is a non-toxic, odorless chemical.
MSM helps the body efficiently use vitamins and nutrients.
Supplementing MSM benefits amino acids in the skin. MSM decreases pressure inside cells, allowing water and nutrients to flow better inside cells. This process more effectively nourishes the body and improves skin elasticity.
Manganese
Manganese is a trace mineral needed for nutrient absorption, bone development, and immune-system defenses.
Manganese aids the formation of bone mass and helps balance levels of calcium and phosphorus.
Manganese can also help reduce joint inflammation.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an important addition to other vitamins and minerals.
High doses of vitamin E have an anti-inflammatory effect and may help with pain and swelling.
Aging dogs with stiff joints may benefit from vitamin E supplements for improved mobility.

Hi, my pomeranian Sophie is 12 years old and 20 lbs..she is a large type. She has had knee surgery and now is having seizures. We are giving her PhenoB, KBro and Gabapentin to keep the seizures at bay. It does seem to be working. I swim with her a couple of times a week to help with her arthritis. She also gets bladder stones and is on SO by Royal Canin which seems to be working. My question(s) are would any of these supplements counter or in anyway compromise her health? She does have pretty severe arthritis in her knees as the surgery was over 6 years ago.
Thank you for your question! We do not expect any of the PET | TAO supplements would cause an issue with the other things you're doing for her. Harmonize Joint is great for supporting dogs with arthritis. If you think she has pain or disconfort, you can also simultaneously try PET | TAO Comfort for additional support!
My dog has only been on these for a week. I have not had enough time to see if they work

TAO Harmonize Joint Supplement
Have been giving this to our Dachshund-Yorkie, Hutt, for almost a year. He had surgery for IVDD, which was very successful. Wanted to do everything possible to strengthen and maintain his joint health and flexibility to hopefully prevent future issues. Hutt's doing great!

Highly recommended!
This product helps prevent my dog’s arthritis from progressing and makes him more comfortable through his struggles with ACL tears and luxating patellas. He will take this for the rest of his life - along with glucosamine injections.
