Are Jing Tang Herbal Products Good Quality?

What is Jing Tang Herbal?

Jing Tang Herbal is a renowned Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) herbal company focused on providing herbal formulas specifically designed for veterinary use.

In fact, they are one of our top herbal suppliers.

Jing Tang Herbal only distributes through licensed veterinarians to ensure the best and safest care of animals. Because of this, all Jing Tang herbs require a veterinarian's authorization

Company Credibility

Jing Tang Herbal's founder, Dr. Huisheng Xie, is a renowned veterinarian and herbalist who developed a comprehensive system of herbal animal formulations.

In addition to founding Jing Tang Herbal, Dr. Xie also founded Chi University.

Chi University is a nationally accredited university offering Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) courses, certifications, and degrees to veterinarians.

Popular courses include acupuncture, herbal medicine, tui-na, and food therapy.

Dr. Xie is a third-generation Chinese herbalist with a lifetime passion for promoting and protecting the health and well-being of animals.

He developed over two-hundred herbal formulas based on the 4,000-year-old Chinese herbal tradition combined with over 30 years of personal clinical experience.

He also continues improving and updating his herbal formulas with the latest progress in modern research and new findings from accumulated clinical studies.

Jing Tang Herbal offers a wide range of herbal products, including powder, capsules, teapills, concentrated powder, salves, and tinctures formulated using the principles of TCVM.

The formulas contain various herbs carefully selected and combined to address specific animal health conditions.

The company uses high-quality ingredients. In addition, it adheres to rigorous quality control standards to ensure the efficacy and safety of its products.

Veterinarians use Jing Tang herbal products to support overall health, manage chronic conditions, and promote animal wellness.

Currently, over 9,000 licensed veterinarians in the USA and over 70 other countries use Jing Tang herbal products for their patients daily.

Sourcing and Quality Control

Jing Tang Herbal quality control starts with the seeds and is meticulously monitored through growing, and ends with the final product.

Herb Growing Conditions

To deliver top-quality formulas, Jing Tang only uses high-grade herbs.

The herbs are all species verified and authenticated using the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Materia Medica.

The Jing Tang suppliers in China contract directly with select herb farms long-term.

Most are small, multi-generation-owned farms. Jing Tang assigns highly-trained technicians to work on-site with the farmers.

Another critical factor affecting the quality of the herbs is the growing conditions. Different growing conditions produce other rates in herbs.

Jing Tang only uses herbs grown in their Dao Di regions—the area known to have the highest quality of that particular herb type.

The herb growing sites are in areas far from chemical plants, power plants, landfills, and mines. Jing Tang also avoids placing growing sites in downstream areas to prevent water pollution.

They use pesticides and fertilizers very cautiously, choosing organic solutions whenever possible. Jing Tang does not use non-degradable pesticides and fertilizers.

Testing and Quality Control

Jing Tang Herbal enforces strict safety testing and quality control for all herbal products.

All herbs undergo stringent testing, beginning with single herb screening and ending with product release testing.

You can learn more about the different phases of testing involved on the Jing Tang testing page.

All Jing Tang brand herbal products comply with the US cGMP regulations on Dietary Supplements ( 21 CFR 111) and China GMP (2011 Edition).

In addition, all imported herbal products and raw materials pass the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspections.

In addition, Jing Tang Herbal carries the NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) seal as a primary supplier.

The NASC Quality Program provides strict guidelines for product quality assurance in:

  • written, consistent raw material sourcing and manufacturing standards
  • adverse event reporting
  • labeling and claims requirements

You can learn more about Jing Tang quality control on the Jing Tang quality control page.

Our founding veterinarians, Dr. Marc Smith and Dr. Casey Damron, have been using Jing Tang herbal formulas in their clinics for many years. They are very satisfied with the product quality and effectiveness.
