Can this be used to supplement an equine who is already taking traditional medication, but is requiring increased dosages of traditional medication to manage their symptoms?
Thank you for your question! Yes, Ophiopogon could help in that circumstance! Please check with your equine vet to see if Ophiopogon is right for you or to see if they recommend a different formula. Just let us know if you need help finding a vet. When you're ready, you can request authorization here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization. I would like to purchase for my dog with cushings. Can I not buy without prescription?
Thanks for writing. The manufacturer, Jing Tang, requires us to keep a veterinary authorization on file for all Jing Tang Herbal product orders.
This is a great way to make sure our customers are purching the correct herb. There are hundreds of Chinese herbal formulas, and while many of them may help your pet, there is always one specific formula and specific dose that is best for your pet. Or, there is a combination of formulas that will help your pet the most. It's up to a veterinarian to determine this combination based on their training. Without training, the incorrect herb or combination is often chosen.
Here is the list provided by Jing Tang of their vets (most TCVM vets went to the Chi Institute and use Jing Tang herbs) if you want to search further: https://store.tcvmherbal.com/Default.asp?
Maybe the list can help you find a TCVM vet in your area. If not, let us know and we can schedule a consultation for you with one of our vets.
If you have any other questions or if we can help you in any way, just let us know!
do you have this product for a horse?
Thank you for your question! This product is designed for horses and large dogs. Concentrated 90g bottles last roughly two weeks for horses, depending on the dose your vet recommends. To request authorization from your vet to purchase this product, just go here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization
Good morning! How much Ophiopogon formula is usually given to the cat? How is it given, straight in the food? Do fussy cats tend to reject it? Do you ship internationally (UK) and what is the cost?
Ophiopogon Concentrated powder is usually given to cats at a dosage of .1-.2 g twice daily depending on the size of your cat. The powder is generally mixed with the food. Occasionally, fussy cats refuse the powder so yes that can be an issue and it all depends on your individual cat. We do ship internationally however the price depends on your location.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Hello, How much is the concentrated ophiopogon formula (powder)? Thank you Colleen

My dog has Cushing's disease and we used this as prescribed and didn't see any difference in her symptoms. They are the same as they were before this treatment. Her liver values are also worse on her latest annual bloodwork. So for my dog this did not help at all.
