We have a 1 year old Keeshond with seizure disorder. He weighs between 35-40 pounds. What dosage would he take of this ?
Thank you for your question and your interest in Chinese Medicine! Di Tan Tang may help with seizures when given at your vet's direction. The standard dosing range for Di Tan Tang 0.5g Capsules #200 is 0.5g per 10-20lb twice daily for dogs/cats. Since this is a range, your vet needs to determine the best dose in this range for your pet. Please note- this product is non-concentrated. Concentrated products, such as Di Tan Tang Concentrated 90g Powder are double the strength of regular products, so they are given at half the dose. This product requires a vet's authorization which you can request here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.
DOes this interact or is it contradicted with any other medications?
Thank you for your question! Di Tan Tang is contraindicated for use during pregnancy, but there are no other known interactions or contraindications. Your vet will be able to help you decide if Di Tan Tang is appropriate for your dog's condition. Also, your veterinarian's authorization is needed in order to purchase from us.
