Ask a Question
  • what would the dosage be of Di Gu Pi San (not concetrated) from a 200 capsule bottle of .5 for a 28 lb dog.

Thank you for your question! The manufacturer's dosing range for non-concentrated Di Gu Pi San is 0.5g per 10 to 20 lb of body weight twice daily. Since this is a range and not an exact dose, your vet should give you a specific dose based on your pet's condition and individual characteristics. If your vet needs assistance determining a dose, they can contact the Chi Institute for help on your specific case. Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine!

  • what is the difference in di gu pi san and concentrated di gu pi san?

Thank you for your question! The concentrated products are double the strength of the regular products. So, you can give half as much of the concentrated products. Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine!

  • Can my dog stay on Di Gu Pi San indefinetly? She has arthritis and disk problems and has not had any side effects from this herb. There is no cure for her conditions so the only way I would know if this herb is helping with pain is to take her off, which I really don't want to do. I have been told there are no side effects. She is 15 yrs old and I want to make her as comfortable as possible. thank you

Thank you for your question! The manufacturer states Di Gu Pi San is designed to be used as needed up to 6 months. Some vets may recommend treating pets longer than 6 months depending on their individual condition. TCVM herbal formulas are designed to bring pets back into balance, so if your pet seems to still need assistance after your vet's recommended length of time, we recommend checking with your vet to see if there are other options. We also offer two supplements for arthritis and disc problems which are a good complement to herbal therapy. They are called Comfort and Harmonize Joint. We also offer warming and cooling diets, kidney treats, and a free ebook written by our vets that can help support dogs with arthritis. Thank you for your interest and support of TCVM!

  • Good Morning, I am researching your products and am wondering which supplement you'd recommend for an ex-racehorse to help with joint arthritis? Also, do you have a combo for joint issues and ligament or are they two separate supplements? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your question! There are a few formulas for arthritis, Di Gu Pi San, Dok's Formula, Sang Zhi San, Coix Formula, and Loranthus Powder. Arthritis can have different patterns in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and the correct herb will depend on the pattern the horse is displaying. There is also an herbal formula called Tendon Ligament Formula. These can be used together or separately, depending on what your vet recommends for your horse's specific characteristics.
