The herbal portion combines Qi tonification with Blood-invigorating actions. The nutritional ingredients provide a separate layer of support for normal cardiac function, energy metabolism, and antioxidant protection.
NutriHerb Heart Support contains Blood-invigorating herbs, including Dan Shen and Shan Zha, together with cardiovascular nutrients. Pets taking prescription medications should use this formula under veterinary supervision because herb-drug interaction research in dogs and cats is limited.
Extra caution is appropriate with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, cardiac glycosides such as digoxin, blood-pressure medications, diuretics, antiarrhythmics, and multiple prescription medications. Your veterinarian can determine whether this formula is appropriate based on your pet’s condition, medications, and laboratory results.

NutriHerb Heart Support combines nutrients involved in normal heart muscle function, cellular energy production, and antioxidant protection with herbs traditionally used to tonify Qi and invigorate Blood. Your veterinarian can assess how this nutritional and TCVM approach fits your dog’s or cat’s individual needs.
For dogs and cats up to 10 lbs, give ½ capsule once daily, or as directed by your veterinarian. For 11 to 30 lbs, give 1 capsule once daily, or as directed by your veterinarian. For 31 to 50 lbs, give 1 capsule twice daily, or as directed by your veterinarian. For pets over 50 lbs, your authorizing veterinarian will provide the appropriate dose. Use for the duration recommended by your veterinarian.
It may be appropriate as part of a veterinarian-supervised plan, but it should not be added without a medication review. Dan Shen, Shan Zha, and the nutritional ingredients warrant consideration alongside medications affecting heart function, blood pressure, fluid balance, or clotting. Do not use this supplement to replace prescribed heart medications unless recommended by your veterinarian.
A taurine-only supplement provides one nutrient. NutriHerb Heart Support also contains Acetyl L-Carnitine, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, and three Chinese herbs. These ingredients offer additional nutritional and traditional herbal actions, but a broader formula is not automatically the right choice for every pet. Your veterinarian can help determine whether targeted taurine supplementation or a combination formula better fits your pet’s needs.
