I started him on senior dog and my vet recommended your product. I am anxious to get started. Please email asap What would the dosage be for a 108 lb dog.
Thank you for your question! We're sorry your dog is struggling with falls. There are no known interactions with the Jing Tang herbs and other herbal products. However, please check with your vet to confirm all supplements your pet is taking are right for your pet. The manufacturer's recommended dosing range for Hindquarter Weakness Concentrated 0.5g Capsules #100 is one 0.5g capsule per 20 to 40 lb of body weight twice daily. Your veterinarian can help you choose the best dose in that range depending on your dog's individual characteristics. We require veterinary authorization for all herbal purchases. To request authorization, please fill out this form.
My local vet cannot supply this currently. Do you have it in stock?
Thank you for your question! We have this item in stock and can ship it to you with your vet's permission. You can request authorization here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.
My vet is willing to write a script for this but she’s unsure of dosage. Called the company and no one has called her back. The dog weights about 60Lbs.
Thank you for your question! We haven't received any calls related to this, but it's possible she called the manufacturer, Jing Tang. The dosing range is 0.5g per 10-20lb twice daily for dogs and cats. Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and have a great day!
Our dog takes this. It was prescribed by our vet. How much is a bottle of 100 through you?

Hi there, no problem and we are happy to help! The Jing Tang formulas, including Hindquarter Weakness, are used for horses, dogs, and cats. Each formula can be used for all three species with the exception of a couple hoof health formulas that are just for horses. When you create an account and log in, the prices will be visible. Thank you for your interest in Chinese Medicine!
what is the concentration difference between: Jing Tang Hindquarter Weakness *Concentrated* 0.5g Capsules #100 and Jing Tang Hindquarter Weakness 0.5g Capsules #200. I am guessing the #100 or #200 is the quantity, however the .05g #100 states concentrated and .05g #200 does not state concentrated. The prices are about the same. Would the concentrated #100 be prescribed at half the dosage of the #200 which does not say concentrated?
Thank you for your question! You are correct! The # sign designates quantity. The concentrated formulas are twice as strong as the regular formulas, so they are given at half the dose. Both concentrated and regular formulas contain the same herbs.
Hello--do these come in a chewable form? My dogs will never take a pill or capsule (or powder for that matter).
Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, this product only comes in capsules, teapills, and powder at this time. If you try a concentrated powder, it may help disguise the taste if you mix the powder into peanut butter, wet dog food, or meat. Since concentrated powders are more condensed, you give a very small amount compared to regular powder.
How long before it works?
Thanks for your question! Herbal formulas take approximately 2-3 weeks to start working. Maximum benefits occur within 6 weeks. Your pet may need a 1-2 week period for his/her body to adjust to the herbs. However, your veterinarian's authorization is needed in order to purchase. Your vet may adjust the dose as well depending on your horse's condition. You can request authorization here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization
My dog is currently taking gabapentin and zonisamide for seizures, and vetmedin for a heart murmur is this product safe to take along with his prescribed medications?
Hi, thank you for your question!
There are several TCVM herbs to help dogs with seizures and heart murmur, but a TCVM vet or your vet would need to help you choose the right formula or combination of herbal formulas based on your dog's varied symptoms and the formula that will be most effective for your dog's health situation and case, also to help fully resolve the issue properly through TCVM. Good examples are Di Tan Tang and Heart Qi Tonic by Jing Tang.
We recommend you check with your vet. Or get telemedicine ($125) from one of our TCVM vets.

My prescribing vet is on vacation and my dog was just prescribed 4 heart medications by a cardiologist. Would you be able to tell me if any of these meds interact with this supplement? He has been on this supplement for 3 weeks. Pimbobendan, Benazepril, Spironolactone and Furosemide. Thank you!
Thank you for your email!
Unfortunately, our customer service team is unable to advise pet owners on specific medical questions - we must leave those questions to veterinarians since they are experts in herbalism and Chinese medicine, and also because they know your pet's situation the best.
We recommend checking with the office staff at the vet clinic where you were prescribed the herbs. If they aren't sure, they can check with Chi University (or the cardiologist can). Please be informed that we aren't the manufacturer, but Chi University works with the manufacturer, Jing Tang, to answer vet's specific medical questions.
