Active Ingredient TCVM Actions

Each herb in Stasis Breaker plays a targeted role in breaking Blood stasis, softening hardness, and clearing Heat toxins:

  • E Zhu (Curcuma zedoaria) - Zedoary rhizome: Breaks Blood stasis, moves Qi, and dissolves accumulations and masses; one of the two primary stasis-breaking herbs in this formula.
  • San Leng (Sparganium stoloniferum) - Bur-reed rhizome: Breaks Blood stasis, moves Qi, and dissolves hard masses; works with E Zhu as a classic stasis-breaking pair for resolving hard accumulations.
  • Mu Li Shu (Ostrea gigas, calcined) - Calcined oyster shell: Softens hardness, dissipates nodules, and anchors Yang; the primary hardness-softening herb in this formula.
  • Zhe Bei Mu (Fritillaria thunbergii) - Zhejiang fritillaria bulb: Clears Heat, transforms phlegm, and dissipates nodules; works with Mu Li to soften hardness and support the body's natural resolution of masses.
  • Bai Hua She She Cao (Oldenlandia diffusa) - Spreading hedyotis: Clears Heat, resolves toxins, and supports the body's natural immune defenses; a key herb for Heat toxin patterns.
  • Ban Zhi Lian (Scutellaria barbata) - Barbat skullcap: Clears Heat, resolves toxins, invigorates Blood, and reduces swelling; works with Bai Hua She She Cao as a classic Heat-toxin-clearing pair.

Potential Drug Interactions

Stasis Breaker contains potent Blood-moving and stasis-breaking herbs (E Zhu, San Leng) alongside Heat-clearing and toxin-resolving herbs (Bai Hua She She Cao, Ban Zhi Lian) that may interact with certain medications. Pets on prescription medications should use this formula under veterinary supervision, as herb-drug interaction research in dogs and cats remains limited.

Medication categories warranting extra caution include anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, chemotherapy agents, corticosteroids or immunosuppressive drugs, NSAIDs, cardiac medications, and pets managing multiple concurrent prescriptions. Your veterinarian can determine appropriateness based on your pet's condition, current medications, and laboratory results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions is Stasis Breaker used for in TCVM?

Stasis Breaker is most commonly recommended for dogs, cats, and horses with TCVM patterns of Blood stasis with Heat accumulation and hardness. Holistic veterinarians frequently prescribe it for pets with chronic stagnation, poor circulation, or abnormal growths where the underlying pattern involves Blood stasis and Heat toxin accumulation. Because this is a potent formula, it is not appropriate for pregnant or weak animals - your veterinarian will confirm whether it is the right fit for your pet following a TCVM evaluation. A milder alternative, Max Formula (B2022), is available for pets that cannot tolerate the full Stasis Breaker formula.

How is Stasis Breaker administered, and what are the recommended doses?

Dosing varies by species, body weight, and health condition; your authorizing veterinarian will determine the appropriate dose following a TCVM evaluation. For dogs and cats using 0.5g concentrated capsules, the general guideline is one capsule per 20 to 40 lbs of body weight twice daily. For small dogs and cats under 10 lbs, one 0.2g capsule once daily is typical. For the 90g concentrated powder, the dose for dogs and cats is 0.1g to 0.25g per 10 to 20 lbs twice daily; the included small scoop holds approximately 0.3g. For the tincture, the dose for small dogs and cats is 10 drops per 5 to 10 lbs of body weight twice daily; each full dropper holds approximately 20 drops. Store the tincture in the refrigerator for best results. For horses, the standard dose is 3g (approximately 2.5 large scoops) twice daily as a top dressing on feed. You may use this formula alongside Wei Qi Booster.

How long does it take to see results with Stasis Breaker?

Response time varies depending on the individual pet, the severity and chronicity of the Blood stasis pattern, and the format used. Some pets may respond within a few weeks, while those with more established or chronic stasis patterns may require several months of consistent use. The manufacturer recommends use for up to 6 months. Regular follow-up with your holistic veterinarian is recommended to monitor progress, assess response, and adjust dosing as needed.

Can Stasis Breaker be combined with other TCVM formulas or medications?

Stasis Breaker is sometimes used alongside other TCVM formulas - including Wei Qi Booster - as part of a comprehensive protocol, but combination use should always be guided by your authorizing veterinarian. If your pet is on prescription medications - particularly anticoagulants, chemotherapy agents, NSAIDs, or immunosuppressants - your veterinarian will evaluate whether Stasis Breaker is appropriate given your pet's full health picture and current treatment plan. Do not use in pregnant or weak animals. If your pet experiences diarrhea, vomiting, or other unusual signs, stop use immediately and contact your veterinarian.

Bottle comes with less product.

I use max formula and concentrated stasis breaker. This is a very good product, has kept the mast cell tumors at bay. The only issue I have is the stasis breaker has less in it than the max formula. Happens with every order. I weighed the bottles the last time, was missing an ounce. This stuff cost too much money to be shorted.

Stasis breaker capsules

I had been using the tincture but when it ran out I switched to the capsules. It seems to be helping Pepper to maintain his status in the face of nasal cancer. I find the capsules are pretty easy to give especially if you put a little butter on them to make them go down easier.

Maureen, thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review I am really sorry Pepper has nasal cancer. I am glad the Chinese herbs are offering some comfort to you and Pepper during a challenging time. The butter is a great tip! Some pets are unable to consume tinctures or powder and your review will spread awareness to their guardians about the ease of giving capsules. Thank you again. Sincerely, Samantha

Maybe if I had started him on them sooner?

My dog died 4 days after starting him on the Jing tang supplements, so I can’t really say they were helpful. He was 6 weeks in since his lymphoma diagnosis.
