I have a 13 year old Rhodesiam Ridgeback mix, Reggie, who has many lipomas. He has had one on his chest that grew to the size of an orange and was recently surgically removed. The skin was thinning and blistering. I also have another 13 year old, Nicky, who is a mixed Shepherd. She has a large lipoma in her lower abdomen and is also overweight. How does the herbal mix work and how long does it typically take to see results? What is the daily dosage? I'm a senior and on SS so I need to know what this may cost. Thanks very much.
Thank you for your question! I'm sorry to hear your dogs are struggling with lipomas. Usually, Phlegm Fat Formula takes 3-6 months to start working. Herbal medicine works slower than Western Medicine, but it's generally gentler. The dose for capsules is one 0.5g capsule per 20 to 40 lb of body weight twice daily. Your vet can help you decide where to dose in that range. The daily cost depends on how much your vet asks you to give. Upon logging, the prices will show and you can use your vet's recommendation to figure out how much giving the herbs costs per day.
