QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • what are the side effects after use for 2 years???? excessive thirst and urination????

Thank you for your question! TCVM Herbals can sometimes cause mild gastrointestinal distress when they are first started, but this is the only known side effect. Please contact your vet with any questions about your pet's specific condition. They will be able to help determine the cause of your pet's excessive thirst and urination. Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine!

  • My dog (pitbull) is 62 pounds and is doing well with Stage II kidney disease. How much of a scoop should he get and how frequently? And do I start with a smaller amount and build up to a level?

Thank you for your question! I'm sorry to hear your pitbull has kidney disease, but it's good to hear he is doing well! The manufacturer's recommended dose range for concentrated formulas is 0.125-0.25g per 10-20lb twice daily for dogs and cats. It's important to find out your vet's recommendation based on your pet's specific condition since the dosing range is quite large. Some vets recommend starting with a lower dose and increasing based on how your dog is doing. The length of time the bottle will last depends on the dose your vet recommends in that range. If you find out how many grams per day your vet recommends, you can figure out how long it will last. You can divide 90 by the number of grams per day your vet recommends to see how many days the bottle will last. We also require herbal authorization for all purchases, which assures us you're using the most effective herbal formula for your pet. To request authorization from your vet, you can go here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.

  • If my cat needs half of the concentrated pill 0.5 a day, how much scoop to give per day or how do we measure for powder form

Thanks for your question! Half of a 0.5g Concentrated Capsule is equivalent to 0.25g Concentrated Powder. This can be measured by using the small end of the enclosed double-sided white scoop. The small end of the scoop is approximately 0.3g, so you would just fill it a little less than level. It's a very tiny amount since the powder is concentrated.
