How long will a 200g purchase last under normal dosing for a 9-yr-old, 13lb Yorkie-poo?
Thank you for your question!
The manufacturer's recommended dose range for Tendon Ligament Formula 200g Powder is 0.5 g per 10 to 20 lb body weight twice daily for dogs and cats.
It's important to find out your vet's recommendation based on your pet's specific condition since the dosing range is quite large. Some vets recommend starting with a lower dose and increasing based on how your dog is doing. The length of time the bottle will last depends on the dose your vet recommends in that range.
If you find out how many grams per day your vet recommends, you can figure out how long it will last. You can divide 200 by the number of grams per day your vet recommends to see how many days the bottle will last.
We also require herbal authorization for all purchases, which assures us you're using the most effective herbal formula for your pet. To request authorization from your vet, click here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.

A friend has a dog who became lame (back Right leg) this morning. Our dog had the same type of injury and we gave him your big/tendon formula and he has been fine for 3 months now So I recommended our vet Integrative Animal Health Center but they are not accepting new dogs until next April The owner wants to do TCM and herbal approach for his dog. Can I get a list of Vets in Massachusetts who carry your product. Many vets are not accepting new dogs to their practice. Thank you
Thank you for your question! A list of TCVM vets can be found here. To learn more about tendon ligament formula, go here. If you have trouble finding a vet, our vets do virtual visits, and you can contact them at www.whiteoakvet.com or www.franklintnvet.com.
Hello, I see that the TL formulation may cause gastrointestinal distress. I've got a 12 year old golden mix that has a bit of acid reflux, will that make it worst if I put him on this herb??I have a DVM who would order this for me but need to find out if he will deal with stomach distress.
Thank you for your question! While some side effects upon starting the herbs are possible, our vets do not observe this in most cases. A great way to decrease the chance of stomach irritation is starting at the lowest dose in the dosing range and increasing from there. Some pet owners and vets decide to try herbs because the potential benefits outweigh the mild side effects. However, if you choose not to try the herbs, there are other ways you can support your dog's tendons and ligaments with Eastern Food Therapy! Check out PET | TAO's free ebook about cruciate ligaments, Zing canned formula, and Freeze Dried Liver treats to learn more. Or, you can cook the Zing (blood-building) recipe at home: https://pettao.com/pet-food-recipes/.
Hello, I am an acupuncturist (NCCAOM) for 25 years. I would like to get some of the Jing Tang tendon/ligament powder for my 55 lb 7 year old golden retriever who tore cruciate lig, had a surgical procedure to fix and re tore....not going down surgery route again. Am I able to order this thru you without a vet note. I have been to vet 4 times and can't afford another visit.
Hi there, thank you for your question and thank you for practicing and supporting Chinese Medicine! I am sorry to hear your dog re-tore a cruciate ligament after surgery! We are only able to sell the herbs with veterinary authorization to make sure your dog is getting the right formula for their condition. It is possible your vet may still authorize without you going in for an appointment. Also, if you're unable to get a veterinary authorization for an herbal product, we have some other products that may interest you and may help your dog - one is a free ebook. Blood-building foods such as Zing often help support cruciate ligaments. Also, PET | TAO offers a blood-building homecooked recipe. Comfort may help support dogs in pain, and Liver treats support dogs with ligament problems. The PET | TAO products do not require veterinary authorization - that is only required for the herbs.
Was wondering if any ingredients in Tendon Ligament Formula 200g Powder can cause insomnia in dogs, thank you Diana
Thank you for your question! This is not a known side effect of TCVM herbals. Sometimes, mild gastrointestinal distress occurs after starting TCVM herbals. If this doesn't resolve on it's own, please contact your vet. Other than mild gastrointestinal distress, there are no side effects commonly observed with TCVM herbals. However, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask your vet, as they are the expert regarding your pet's health.
can i send you a scan of the script from my vet
Sure! You can email that to us at info@tcvmnpet.com. It needs to include the name of the product (needs to note exact product including concentration and size in grams), dose, vet's name, vet clinic's name, vet's license number, pet's name, expiration date, whether substitutions are allowed, and vet's signature. A receipt or product label will not suffice, it needs to be a written or typed authorization from the vet. Please email us at that email address if you have any questions.

What is the difference between the Concentrated Tendon/Ligament (90g) powder and the Tendon/Ligament (200 or 600g) powder. I'm using the concentrated formula right now on my 1300 lb horse and it doesn't last long.
Hi! Thank you for your question!
The Concentrated products are all double the strength of the regular products (200 or 600g). The herbal ingredients are the same.
When you purchase regular powder, you will need to give about 2x more of the regular formula.
For example, if your vet dosing instruction is 3g twice daily, you will need to give 6g twice a day of the regular powder.
Thank you for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine!
