Thanks for supporting Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine!
What is your cost for the Max’s Formula Concentrated Powder? And what are shipping costs? Thank you!
Thank you for your question! The manufacturer of the herbs, Jing Tang, requires us not to print prices on our product pages unless customers are logged in. Since our answer to your question will show up on the product page, please log in to view prices of the items you're looking for. Also, please note the monthly cost depends on your veterinarian's recommended dose. The shipping for the vast majority of herbs is $6.50 and USPS Priority mail is used. What are the side effects of Concentrated Max's 90g powder? My dog has been having noticeably teeth chattering and nervous shivering and panting and wondering if she is experiencing side effects.
Hello, we are very sorry for the challenges you are facing with your dog. The manufacturer, Jing Tang, has no contraindications listed for Max's Formula. However, when unusual symptoms or health situations arise, we always recommend contacting your veterinarian. Although very uncommon, it is possible for a pet to have a reaction to one of the herbs in the formula. And there is always the possibility that the symptoms your dog is having are unrelated to the herbal formula and are caused by something else. Please let your vet know what's going on right away, and we hope your dog is feeling better soon!
Why do you require a vet authorization when you know that vets prefer to use carcinogens to treat tumors. Is this just gatekeeping? It is frustrating to have a dog with a tumor and no vet around.
Thank you for your question! The manufacturer, Jing Tang, requires us to have a veterinary authorization on file for all Jing Tang Herbal orders.
This is because there are hundreds of herbal formulas, and if the wrong formula is chosen, the herbal formula may only help the pet a little bit. When the proper formula is chosen for the pet's individual characteristics, much more improvement is seen. We want to make sure all pets use the proper formulas for their individual situation and TCVM signs.
Here is the list provided by the Chi Institute of their vets (most TCVM vets went to the Chi Institute and use Jing Tang herbs) if you want to search for a vet: http://www.tcvm.com/Resources/FindaTCVMPractitioner.aspx
Maybe the list can help you find a TCVM vet in your area. If not, you can contact one of our vets. Our vets provide telemedicine through their clinics at www.franklintnvet.com or www.whiteoakvet.com.

My beloved Ruby, 60 pound, 10 year old, Boxer/Ridgeback mix was diagnosed with cancer, after having what was thought to be a interdigital cyst removed, which came back as cancerous. I was told to wait to see if comes back, and it's been 6 months, and she is showing symptoms of tumor return. The odd thing, it was doing wonderful, and even though she is 10 years old, she still came heat, and after an episode of a false pregnancy a couple weeks ago, it seem to really progress the cancer. We have an appointment tomorrow, and I know my options may not be want I want to hear. I would like to try something such as this, so how do I go about requesting my vet for authorization.
I’m so sorry your dog was diagnosed with cancer – the good news is, Eastern Food Therapy and TCVM herbs can support your dog’s health. We recommend Zing canned dog food, liver treats, and Complement Immune supplement.
Here are some blog posts we wrote about Complement Immune: https://pettao.com/?s=complement+immune
We also have a free ebook written by our vets about dog cancer here: https://tcvmpet.com/collections/free-downloads/products/dog-cancer-ebook?variant=31345884069958
Also, Max’s Formula and Stasis Breaker are often used together for cancer (vet authorization required). You can learn more about them here:

Hi, I have am 80lb golden retriever. The vet recommended this to reduce tumors. Am I correct in thinking I would give him 1gm twice a day. (2 gm total per day) So it should last 45 days?
Thank you for your question! The manufacturer's recommended dose range for concentrated 90g formulas is 0.125-0.25g per 10-20lb twice daily for dogs and cats. So, 1g twice daily would be in the low to mid-range in the dose range. It's possible your vet may recommend a dose higher in the range. For example - 0.25g per 10lbs twice daily would be 2g twice daily. Also, some vets start pets on the lower end of the range, and then increase as needed. You are correct, if you give 2g total daily, the container will last 45 days for your golden retriever.
Hello. My cat got a mammory cancer. She weights 2,7 kilo and is under veterinary treatment. Could you please tell me how much max formula she needs? Thank you very much. Kind regards. Yvonne
Thank you for your question! I'm so sorry to hear your cat has mammary cancer. Max's Formula is often used to help with cancer, along with Stasis Breaker and Complement Immune. The typical dose of Max's Formula Concentrated 90g Powder is 0.1g to 0.25g per 10 to 20lbs twice daily for dogs and cats. Teapills or 0.2g concentrated capsules may be easier to give your cat and come in a lower dose than concentrated powder. Vets may change the dose or herbal formula based on individual characteristics, constitution, and symptoms. We recommend checking with your vet to see what your pet's TCVM diagnosis is. A TCVM diagnosis helps your vet choose the correct herbal formula and dose. Also, your veterinarian's authorization is needed in order to purchase from us. You can request authorization here: https://tcvmpet.com/pages/get-an-authorization.
