Potential Drug Interactions

Jing Tang Hot Hoof I contains multiple Blood-moving herbs, including Hong Hua, Tao Ren, Dang Gui, and Mo Yao, along with the bowel-moving herb Da Huang. Horses on prescription medications should use this formula under veterinary supervision because herb-drug interaction research in horses is limited.

Medication categories warranting extra caution include anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, anti-inflammatory medications, laxatives, diuretics, sedatives, and multiple prescription medications. Do not use during pregnancy. Stop administration immediately if diarrhea or other unusual signs develop. Your veterinarian can determine appropriateness based on your horse’s condition, medications, and laboratory results.

Hot Hoof I is selected according to the traditional principles of clearing Damp-Heat, moving Qi, activating Blood, and relieving stagnation. It provides a veterinarian-directed herbal option for equine hoof support when the horse’s TCVM pattern matches those actions.

How much concentrated powder should a horse receive?

The supplied manufacturer directions specify 2½ large scoops (3g) of concentrated powder twice daily, or as directed by your veterinarian. Use as needed for up to 6 months, or as directed by your veterinarian. This dose applies to concentrated powder only.

When should Hot Hoof I be avoided or stopped?

Do not use during pregnancy. Stop administration immediately if diarrhea or other unusual signs develop, and contact your veterinarian. Horses taking prescription medications should have a medication review before beginning this formula.

How does Hot Hoof I fit into a plan that includes Hot Hoof II?

Hot hooves 11

I am very impressed with the results of this product. It was recommended by my farrier. We needed to grow sole depth quickly. We grew 1-2 mm in about 3-4 weeks. I'm not sure how the product is doing to gain control over the inflammation in the hoof since we are still experiencing abcesses. But overall I am pleased with the product.

Jennifer, thank you for the review! I am so happy to hear you're seeing growth with Hot Hoof 2. I understand how difficult recurrent abscesses are and I am wishing for healing for your horse. I used Hot Hoof 1 for my horse for many years (also with good results) but I haven't tried Hot Hoof 2 before, so I appreciate your feedback. Best of luck and let us know if you need anything. Sincerely, Samantha

I can ride my horse again!

DISCLAIMER: I work for TCVM Pet Supply, but was NOT provided this product for free. My horse, Sugar, suffered from chronic laminitis and was constantly laying down. I could tell she was in major pain, especially when she tried to walk over to me and kept lifting her front feet up because it hurt so much for them to touch the rocky Tennessee soil. I knew I had to do something to heal the root cause of her pain, rather than just giving her bute to cover up the pain. The first year Sugar foundered in late July, and I gave her a combination of Sang Zhi San and Body sore, which worked wonderfully. The second year, I tried Hot Hoof I, which also worked really well. This year, my veterinarian, Dr. Smith, suggested I start giving Hot Hoof I on March 1st, which I did. I administered it every day until July 1st, and it successfully prevented Sugar from foundering! We are so happy she didn't need to deal with pain and pasture rest this year, and love running around the trails. Thank you Jing Tang!
